BGSU MBA

Last week of classes.

Posted by bdelucia on April 24th, 2008

This is the last day of classes for the semester, with only final exams remaining next week. It has been a long, rather difficult semester so I am glad that it is almost finished. It hasn’t been all bad, though. I really liked some of the classes and I had some excellent teachers as well. Some of the classes weren’t my favorite, but you’ll have some of those throughout an MBA. After next week I just have two six-week summer sessions left before I graduate. It’s crazy to think about how close it is. I’m definitely looking forward to finishing, but I know I’ll miss it once I’m gone. I feel that I’m ready to move on though. I’m definitely ready to move out of Toledo and down to Columbus in August. There are going to be a lot of big changes as soon as I graduate, but I’m ready.

Really coming together.

Posted by bdelucia on April 17th, 2008

This semester continues to draw to a close. I can’t say I’m entirely disappointed…it has been a difficult semester. I’ve had a lot of work and some difficult material. It hasn’t been all bad though. The group projects have made me feel closer to some of the cohort, which is always nice. My groups have 2 presentations coming up. 1 is to Owens Corning for our marketing plan, which I’m actually pretty excited about because our group came up with some really good ideas. The other is for our quantitative analysis project, which shouldn’t be bad at all…the project was more about the spreadsheet and analysis than the presentation. After those 2 presentations and 1 more finance homework, all that is left is final exams. They are going to be tough, but I’m still hoping to come out with good marks. We shall see.

Relaxed…

Posted by bdelucia on April 10th, 2008

This week I had a group presentation in Finance and we turned in our semester long group project in Marketing. I was happy with our Marketing project…I thought it turned out very nice. We will have to present our project to Owens Corning later this month. So for now, I am somewhat relaxed…although we have a Quantitative Analysis project due in a week. This semester has definitely been the toughest yet so I will be relieved when it is all over. There is still a long way to go in terms of studying and work though.

One more month…

Posted by bdelucia on April 3rd, 2008

Hey all,
Its now officially April, which means just one more month until the Spring semester is over. This has been a pretty tough semester…a lot of work with a lot of content. My advice would again be to keep up with your work. There are a lot of group projects this semester as well…at least 1 in every class. If you can get with a group that you work well with it will make a world of difference. I have 2 big projects due next week, and then its crunch time to finish the two projects that are due in two weeks. After that, its final exam time. I’m definitely looking forward to having a few weeks off between Spring and Summer sessions. I’m actually planning on heading down to Columbus to look for an apartment and hopefully set up some job interviews (keep your fingers crossed). If anyone has any questions about the program or anything, feel free to ask. Have a good week. Take care.

Last week in March.

Posted by bdelucia on March 27th, 2008

Hey all,
We are now winding down the month of March which means two things…Spring semester is almost over, AND there are a lot of deadlines quickly approaching. The end of the semesters is a time when you really have to be on top of your game because there is a lot of work to be done. But it’s not that bad if you keep up with it…waiting until the last minute will make you go crazy. Looking back at my MBA experience so far, it’s ridiculous how fast it has gone by. I knew that the 14 month program would go by quickly, but I didn’t think it would be this quick. After this semester I have just 12 weeks left…crazy. Again, if you have any questions regarding the MBA or just college life in general, feel free to ask. Take care.

A day in the life.

Posted by bdelucia on March 20th, 2008

Hello to all again. This has been a busy week for me. I actually got engaged on Saturday so it has been a week full of dinners with families, celebrations and what not on top of an exam, finance research work and an operations case study. But not it’s almost over and I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend. It will be a short, yet relaxing break before I’m back at it next week with more deadlines. My marketing group project deadline is fast approaching and I feel like we still have a lot to do. We will get it done though…I have a good group. Again, if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. Take care.

Introduction

Posted by bdelucia on March 13th, 2008

My name is Brandon and I’m a graduate student in the MBA program at BGSU. The program has been really great so far and the time seems to fly by. We just got back from spring break so I am trying to get back in the swing of things and buckle down for my exam next Tuesday. The program is a lot of work but it’s a lot of fun as well. You get to meet a lot of awesome people and make a lot of new friends as you and your entire cohort go through the program together. If anybody has any questions about the program, classes, or anything like that…something you would rather ask a student than an administrator…feel free to ask. I hope some of you find this blog helpful in your attempts to learn about the graduate business program at BGSU. Best of luck.

Welcome to the BGSU Full-time MBA Blog!

Posted by astoll on March 5th, 2008

Welcome and thanks for stopping by the Bowling Green State University Full-Time Master of Business Administration Blog.  You will find a few different people writing this blog, including our current students.  They will be talking about the ins and outs of their daily life.  If you’ve ever wanted to know what’s it like to be a graduate student, you’ll want to check back.

You’ll also hear from some of the faculty and staff of the MBA program - people like me!  I am the Assistant Director of BGSU’s Graduate and Executive Programs in Business office.  I work with our MBA and MOD (Master of Organization Development) programs.   Right now, I’m working on recruiting our MBA, Class of 2009 class, which starts in June of 2008.  So you’ll probably be reading a lot about that over the next few months as we prepare to welcome the next group of students to our community.

Happy Reading!

Angie
